'Yum Cha' Weekend Menu at The Crystal Garden

From September 26, 2015, The Crystal Garden at The Westin Bund Center Shanghai presents its Yum Cha menu featuring over 50 varieties of traditional Shanghainese and Cantonese dim sum freshly made by the hotel's Dim Sum Sous Chef Sammi Shen and her team.

Highlights of the newly launched weekend menu include truffle dumpling with foie gras, golden scallop dumpling and Boston lobster dumpling

“Our melt-in-your-mouth foie gras dumpling is a great combination of East meets West,” said Chef Sammi Shen. “Also, diners must try the lobster dumpling as one whole Boston lobster is only able to produce approximately eight lobster dumplings and preparation takes 2 hours,” she added.

The word 'Yum Cha' means to drink tea and this traditional custom originated in Southern China. At The Crystal Garden, tea selections include Tie Guanyin, Pu‘er Tea and Oolong which are brewed in a cast iron teapot. Cast iron teapots make the best tea as it distributes the heat evenly to bring out the most flavor and nutrients from the tea leaves.

To enhance the yum cha ambience, diners will also be entertained by live tea performances as they sip their freshly brewed teas served in delicate handmade tea cups.
